Meet Our Owner

Mike Hudman has been training retrievers since he was 16.  Training retrievers is a passion he inherited from his grandfather. Like his grandfather he loves bird dogs. He just has a talent for reading and understanding dogs. He eats, sleeps and breathes retrievers and bird hunting.  Mike started out like most loving bird hunting and the dogs that went with it. His first few dogs were just good old hunting dogs.  As his love for hunting and dogs grew so did his expectations for what his dogs could do?  His drive for expecting and getting the best out of his dogs drove him to breeding and hunt test training.

No longer were just a few days a week and hunting season enough. It grew to a daily activity and wanting to have the best dogs in the marsh. To say he is addicted to it is an understatement. Mike has trained with lots of trainers over the years, some good and some bad. Throughout his experiences he has developed his own techniques that bring out the best in a dog. With all of the years of bird hunting and training Mike has put together training grounds that train, teach and test retrievers to the limit of their talents.
